Oracle Server X8‑2L
Oracle Server X8‑2L is a 2U rack‑mounted enterprise‑class x86 server, designed for workloads that demand generous local storage and rich I/O expansion, such as standalone Oracle Database, non‑SAN database deployment, database consolidation and enterprise virtualization platformsOracle.
Powered by one or two 2nd‑generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Gold / Platinum processors (up to 24 cores per socket), the server contains 24 DDR4 DIMM slots with maximum memory up to 1.5 TB. It offers up to eleven PCI‑Express Gen‑3 expansion slots for Fibre‑Channel HBAs, high‑speed network adapters and flash accelerator cards. The front panel accommodates twelve hot‑swap 3.5‑inch drive bays supporting large‑capacity SAS hard disks or NVMe solid‑state drives, supplemented by two internal M.2 boot drives. This abundant local storage capability differentiates X8‑2L from the compact 1U Oracle Server X8‑2.
Redundant hot‑swap power supplies and fan modules help to reduce single‑points‑of‑failure. The embedded Oracle ILOM service processor enables comprehensive out‑of‑band remote system administration, hardware monitoring, fault alert and firmware update. The server supports Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Microsoft Windows. It serves as a robust infrastructure building block for data‑intensive on‑premises database and middleware environmentsOracle.
