Oracle Server X5-2 is Oracle’s 1U dual-socket x86 rack server, built to deliver balanced compute, memory and I/O performance for database consolidation, virtualization and Oracle engineered systems. It supports one or dual Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 series processors, with up to 18 cores per socket. Dual CPU configuration is required to reach full memory and I/O capacity.
The server has 24 DDR4 DIMM slots for dual-processor setup, supporting RDIMM and LRDIMM modules, with maximum memory capacity of 768GB running at 2133 MT/s; single-CPU configuration supports up to 384GB. Local storage offers up to eight 2.5-inch hot-pluggable SAS3 HDD, SATA SSD or NVMe SSD drives, with optional RAID HBA and supercap-backed write cache for data protection. It provides four low-profile PCIe Gen3 expansion slots for InfiniBand HCAs, 10G/25G network adapters and storage controllers.
X5-2 integrates four onboard 10GBase-T Ethernet ports. Redundant hot-swappable power supplies and fan modules ensure 24/7 reliable operation. Oracle ILOM enables remote KVMS, hardware monitoring and fault diagnostics. Pre-certified with Oracle Database, Oracle Linux, Oracle Solaris and Oracle VM, X5-2 is widely used as compute nodes for Oracle Exadata, Big Data Appliance and Recovery Appliance.
