Oracle Private Cloud Appliance X11 Compute Node (E6‑2L)The Oracle Server E6‑2L is the compute building block for the new‑generation Oracle Private Cloud Appliance X11 engineered system, an on‑premises private cloud delivering OCI‑consistent cloud services inside customer‑managed data centers. Form‑factored as a 2‑rack‑unit enterprise server, each X11 compute node is equipped with two AMD EPYC‑9J25 (Genoa) CPUs offering 192 physical cores. Memory capacity scales up to 3 TB using 24 slots of DDR5‑6400 RDIMM. A pair of hot‑pluggable 2.5‑inch NVMe SSDs provides local boot storage for the built‑in KVM hypervisor. High‑speed internal connectivity is realized via onboard dual‑port 100 Gb/s RoCE adapters over PCIe Gen5, enabling low‑latency communication within the PCA rack. The X11 base rack also incorporates ZS11‑2 ZFS storage controllers, DE3‑24 disk expansion enclosures, and Cisco Nexus series switches for management and RoCE data fabric. From a software perspective, PCA X11 requires appliance firmware version 3.0.2 or higher. It exclusively supports the new E6 Flex VM instance shapes. Inter‑generation live VM migration between X10 and X11 nodes is blocked due to CPU architecture differences; only cold migration is feasible. The X11 solution also offers optional L40S GPU compute nodes to satisfy generative‑AI inference, HPC and visualization workload requirements. The minimum PCA‑X11 rack configuration contains three management nodes plus three compute nodes, with maximum horizontal expansion up to 12 compute nodes within a single rack. X11 hardware cannot co‑exist with X10 compute nodes in the same physical rack.
