Oracle Server X9‑2 is Oracle’s 1U dual‑socket enterprise‑grade x86 server, powered by 3rd‑generation Intel Xeon Scalable “Ice Lake” processors. Optimized for database consolidation, application middleware, virtualization and modern containerized workloads, it delivers balanced compute, memory and I/O performance for on‑premises enterprise data‑centers. The server board offers 32 DDR4‑3200 RDIMM slots supporting a maximum of 2 TB system memory. For local persistent storage, it accommodates up to four hot‑pluggable 2.5‑inch NVMe SSD drives for high‑speed local data, supplemented by a pair of internal M.2 SATA SSDs which can be deployed in RAID‑1 for resilient operating‑system booting. PCIe Gen 4 expansion slots enable additional adapters, accelerator cards and host bus adapters. Oracle Integrated Lights‑Out Manager (ILOM) service processor provides comprehensive out‑of‑band infrastructure management, including remote console, sensor monitoring, fault logging and firmware update capabilities. The server runs standard enterprise operating systems including Oracle Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux and Microsoft Windows, supporting both bare‑metal and hypervisor‑based virtualization deployments. Importantly, a special factory‑qualified variant of Oracle Server X9‑2 serves as both compute node and management node within the Oracle Private Cloud Appliance X9‑2 engineered rack. This PCA‑optimized version includes dedicated onboard 100 Gb RoCE adapters and pre‑loaded PCA firmware. Standard commercially‑available standalone Oracle Server X9‑2 without that PCA‑specific factory configuration cannot be added into a PCA‑X9‑2 rack.
