Oracle Database Appliance X6‑2‑M is a 1U rack‑mounted single‑node engineered system purpose‑built for Oracle database workloads. It tightly integrates compute resources, high‑speed NVMe flash storage, networking components and purpose‑optimized appliance software stack, eliminating manual integration of discrete server and storage hardware.

The platform is equipped with two Intel® Xeon® E5‑2630 v4 (10‑core, 2.2 GHz) processors, supporting Oracle’s unique on‑demand core licensing model; customers can activate only a subset of physical processor cores to align database software licensing with actual business requirements. The system ships with 256 GB DDR4‑2400 memory, expandable to a maximum of 768 GB. For local flash storage, it starts with two NVMe SSD drives delivering 6.4 TB raw flash capacity and can be expanded up to four NVMe SSDs for 12.8 TB raw flash. Network interfaces include dual 10GbE SFP+ fiber ports and four 10GBase‑T copper ports for database client connectivity and backup networks.

Hardware monitoring and remote administration are delivered via the embedded Oracle ILOM service processor. The ODA software stack automates system provisioning, Oracle ASM storage management, database deployment, patching and firmware updates. It supports both Oracle Database Enterprise Edition and Standard Edition 2.
