Oracle Server X3-2L is a 2U rack-mount dual-socket enterprise server, previously named Sun Fire X4270 M3. Powered by Intel Xeon E5-2600 series processors, it is optimized for storage-intensive workloads rather than pure computing. It supports up to two Intel Xeon E5-2600 CPUs and DDR3 memory with a maximum capacity of 512GB. The platform supports flexible drive configurations: up to 24 × 2.5-inch, or 12 × 3.5-inch hot-swap SAS/SATA HDD/SSD, delivering massive on-premise storage capacity. There are six PCIe 3.0 expansion slots available for HBAs, network adapters and InfiniBand cards. Redundant hot-swappable power supplies and fans eliminate single points of failure. Oracle ILOM service processor enables remote out-of-band management, monitoring and fault diagnosis. It is widely used as storage cells for Oracle engineered systems, backup repositories and Hadoop big data clusters.
